Mitten Movie Monday

Today we have movies to share with you of us playing with our Christmas presents.  The first one is of ME playing with my Turbo Track!  Figaro, my momma Ellie and Bennette are watching me.

The next movie starts with me playing with my toys...then shows Jonesie's playful side, followed by Figaro playing in the packaging, followed by my momma Ellie and Bennette whapping each other in the tissue paper!

Hope you enjoy watching us as much as we enjoyed playing!

Thursday in the House with Jonesie

I have not been out in my garden at all.  Even garden cats need a vacation...and a holiday.   We had such a pawsome Christmas.   Cory is not the only one who is having a fantastic time with our new Turbo Track.

We take turns pawing at the little ball.  Cory is a smarty pants and she was the first one to figure out how to get the ball over the big hill.

I love playing with my little sister.

It's super fun to watch Cory get all googly eyed!

Ok, it's all mom's fault for taking blurry photos, but we were in constant motion!

Christmas Hangover

We hope all of our furriends has a pawsome Christmas!  We sure did.

The fun started on Christmas Eve.  We had a wonderful dinner with friends (the human kind).  As always, I helped set the table.

What do you mean, I'm not helpful?

I think I did a pretty good job!  For my efforts, all of us got bites of roasted turkey!

In the morning, mom and dad tried to sleep late.  Thanks to my awesome brother Nigel...and his loud and persistent yowling, we got to open our presents first thing in the morning.   We each got a potent catnip mousie in our stockings from Santa!  My momma Ellie played in the paper.

But the big event of morning was opening our Secret Paws box.  We found out it came from our pals Eric and Flynn!

In addition to all the amazing Yeoww nip toys...which make us a bit crazy...I got what I'd been purring for...

A Turbo Track!   Wheeeeee!

You'll have to excuse me while I go back to whapping it!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas- Cory's version

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring...especially not Figaro!

My momma and I are tucked in by the fire
With visions of sugarplums cheese and socks...dancing in our my head.

And then on the roof, Jonesie heard the pawing and prancing of reindeer hoofs!
(she swears this is true)
Not wanting to leave her Secret Paws package...

She settled next to the tree, hoping that St.  Nicholas will come down the chimney.

With all the clatter, Figaro woke up to see what's the matter...oh wow there are presents under the tree!

Could it be??

We heard Santa exclaim as he flew out of sight

"Happy Christmas to all and to all a goodnight...especially all you good kitties and woofies!"

(yes he did say that!)

Thursday Under the Tree with Jonesie- Society of Feline Gardeners

::Meowwww::

Hi there my furriends!  Yes, I am inside the house.   It's been raining and muddy and icky and I am a smart cat.  I know that this time of year, parts of the garden come inside.   It's a special time of year when you get a whole decorated tree...to smell to appreciate.

Even I, Jonesie The Good, have been caught playfully whapping at the ornaments.
By the fire, I'm joined by my family.  Cory and Figaro can barely keep their eyes open...yet I, the good garden cat keep a watchful eye on the fire.  Yes...it may be gas...there are no real flames, but my services are still required.

The tree glows warmly at night.  We do our best to move the tree skirt around as much as possible to gently remind our mom and dad to put the presents under there.

Some of our favorite ornaments are making their annual appearance.  The little kitten ornament is Madison's ornament.  It doesn't really look like him, but it says "Kitten's First Christmas 1996".  We know our sweet Madison was a kitten the Christmas of 1996, so it belongs to him.  The rest of us don't have official ornaments.  Only our stockings.

Our Mr. Moose ornament reminds mom of a trip to Maine in August of 2001.  She was driving through the night (dad too) with a friend from Montreal to Maine.  They drove through the night and somewhere in New Hampshire...all bleary eyed at 3am they stopped at a 24 hour convenience store.  They talked to the clerk and discussed how we had not seen any moose.  The clerk mentioned they are hard to see at night "because they have that non-reflective fur, you know".

For some reason this started a giggling fit that hasn't stopped for 11 years.  Every time mom hangs the ornament on the tree we call it the non-reflective ornament.   Every time moose's are discussed in our house...you get the idea.

*snicker*

Well, time to get back to guarding the fireplace and waiting for Santa Paws.

The Stockings Were Hung by the Chimney with Care

I love Christmas.  I love sleeping under the tree.  I love sitting next to the tree.   If you biggify my picture you can see the tree lights reflected in my eyes.

Our stockings are all hung by the fireplace, waiting for Santa Paws to fill them all.   Mom sometimes has a hard time keeping them all straight...but Santa knows.  From left to right....Mom, Figaro, Ellie, Cory, Bennette, Ginger, Jonesie, Cecilia, Madison, ME Nigel, Grete and Dad.

All of our guardian angels have their stockings hung on a garland on a window opposite the fireplace.

::bows head in honor::

Morgan, Nimue, Callie, Gracie, Roger Ramjet, Maxfield, Jonathan, Michelangelo, Maggie, Lewis, Colby, Noelle and Benjamin.

Santa Paws does not fill these stockings because they are already full of memories.

Being Good for Santa

What do you mean get down?  I'm not doing anything...

We're just being good little girls...we're dusting...yeah that's it.
Dusting.

Santa Paws knows we've been so good this year.  He's going to bring us lots of great stuff.

pssst....we'll wait until mom is out of the room and then we'll go climb the tree.

The 12 Days of Christmas- Cory Style

So...my furriends Derby and Ducky challenged their pals to come up with our own version of the 12 Days of Christmas...without birdies and human type stuff.  I adore birdies...especially roasted birdies, but I'm inspired by other things in this world so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

On the 12th day of Christmas my Alfie gave to me:

12 nip filled boot socks
11 pipe cleaners
10 stinky fleece socks
9 Swedish meatballs
8 cheddar cheese balls
7 rounds of Gouda
6 wedges of Parmesan
5 pounds of Brie
4 bowls of cream
3 ice creams
2  sweet kissies
And a nip plant to share with Jonesie

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

Hi there everyone!  If you read the blog yesterday, you'll know that my trusted furriend and sister woofie Grete went tree hunting for us.  She has been doing this since she came to live with us in 2008, so she's getting quite good at it.  Once Grete got home with the tree she gave it to me.
I've learned from careful practice that when a tree gets cut down, it's very thirsty.  The first thing I do after introducing myself to the tree is to make sure it gets a long drink of water outside.  Once it's in the water bucket I can do a thorough inspection.

I also checked out some of the lights daddy hung outside.   They make our dark cold evenings a little bit brighter.
Mom and dad have been slackers so the only thing on the tree right now are the lights.  We hope to whap on mom and dad to get the ornaments hung so we can whap admire them.   At least the tree is safe inside our house.   Mom is a little nervous because the tree skirt is not staying under the tree...if you know what I mean.  We have no idea who is doing it...maybe little elves are sneaking in at night...

Woofie Wednesday- Tree Hunting

Sing with me!  A hunting we will go!

A hunting we will go!

Heigh Ho...

the dairy-o

A hunting we will go!

I hope everyone likes the tree I picked out.  I'm getting really good at this.  I paw the tree over to Jonesie tomorrow for processing.
