Friday in the Garden with Jonesie

Hi my furriends!  I know I've been slacking in the garden, but it's not all my fault!  My mom and dad have not been helping me as they should.   My deadline for them getting in gear is Memorial Day Weekend.  If they don't help with my garden by that date...I call the local Humane Society for intervention.  I believe they have a division called Prevention of Cruelty to Garden Cats.

My corn plants were put all nicely in rows.   But then....disaster struck...

Something has been eating my plants.  I've been investigating but still no answers.   Dad set up Critter Cam so we can do surveillance.   Last night all we had was a feline intruder...more interested in my nip than my corn.  We will continue to be vigilant.

It's not easy being responsible for so much, but I do it because I love it.

And then...when I'm working hard I see this....flagrant laziness.  Using my well prepared dirt for her furs!

We had meows over this and Cecilia agreed to move on...

The planting comes first.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::

I bet you thought that I had forgotten about all of you, loyal members of the Society of Feline Gardeners.   I apologize for my lack of posting.   I'd like to blame my secretary mom but I have to admit I've been slacking a bit myself.

It's been raining and damp, and as I get older, I'm more likely to hit up the fleece blankets indoors vs. brave the mud.

My furs get a little wild too in the damp air.

As you can see, my Rhododendrons are blooming.

Figgy and I are getting impatient because the garden beds are still empty.  Mom and dad say it's because the seeds will rot if we plant them...or they might even wash away.   Mom promises no matter what, we will plant no later than Memorial Day weekend.   This makes me purrrr.

In the meantime, I can snoopervise the perennials that are already here.   The chives are blooming and looking pretty.   I don't eat them but mom does.   We lost a few plants over the winter.  All of our artichoke plants did not make it through the hard freeze.  We also lost our olive tree.

Our red climbing rose super fragrant.  They drop down low enough that mom and dad can smell them easily.   If I'm close by, I get picked up for a sniff too!

Happy 18th Birthday Madison!

zzzzzzzzzzzzz

zzzzz......huh?  Wha?

Oh!  Hi there!  You must be here for my birthday celebration.  Did you know that I'm 18 years old today?   Mom says that's really awesome.

Ignore the food on my nose.   Apparently I was enjoying my Fancy Feast and did not clean myself before my snooze.  I *never* do that!

I've heard that many of you purred for me when I was so sick.  Thank you for your purrs.   They really helped.   I didn't know if I'd make it to my 18th birthday.   It was scary.   Luckily my mom and dad took good care of me.  My best furriends Cecilia and Ginger watched over me too.

I'm a lucky boy.

So, even though I can't drink as many niptinis as I used to....what the heck, help me indulge.

Happy Mothers Day and Happy Birthday to Ellie!

It's Mothers Day today.  The best day of the year.

Nothing makes me happier than mothering everyone here.   Of course, my proudest achievement is being Momma Ellie to my baby girl Cory.

Since my human mom doesn't know my actual birth date, she thought it fitting that I always celebrate on Mothers Day.   It's purrfect!

Do you think I'm going to take the day off from mothering everyone to get a bit of pampering for myself?  No way!

Mothering is what I do.
